The successful candidate will be working in small groups and closely collaborating with the class teacher to deliver targeted interventions that promote academic progress and personal development. The role will require flexibility, resilience, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with children who have complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities, including leading small-group interventions to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging their engagement and participation in learning.
  • Support children in managing and overcoming emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them develop the skills they need to reintegrate into education.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and other staff members to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Monitor progress and report to the class teacher, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with children with emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this position due to the nature of the role.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What We Offer:

  • An opportunity to work in a specialist setting where you can truly make a difference in the lives of children who need additional support.
  • Permanent position with career progression opportunities.
  • Professional development and ongoing training to enhance your skills.
  • Competitive pay with an initial trial period through Tradewind Recruitment, leading to direct employment by the school.

If you are passionate about supporting children with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges and are ready to be part of a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you!
