THE ROLE
Global Mobility Tax Assistant Manager - London

AAB is a dynamic mid-tier accounting firm with ambitious growth goals, dedicated to delivering exceptional services to our clients. We are proud to have a thriving Global Mobility and Tax team that collaborates closely with our Global Payroll team, providing a seamless and comprehensive experience for our clients. This integrated approach allows us to offer unique solutions that cater to the complex needs of global businesses. We are currently seeking a talented Global Mobility professional to join our team and contribute to our continued success and expansion.
As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in helping our clients navigate the complexities of global mobility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supported by a junior engagement team, you will manage the day-to-day global delivery of client engagements.
  • Manage global tax compliance projects and work closely with our network to deliver on all aspects of assignee compliance.
  • Assist in project managing the delivery of varied, global client advisory projects - covering tax, social security, process and policy. Where required, collaborating with subject matter experts across our network on cross-border and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide global tax technical analysis and advice to clients across our various global mobility divisions.
  • Engage with clients on current global mobility and UK tax developments.
  • Support Engagement Leaders with VIP assignee services, including carrying out arrival/departure briefings for senior assignees.
  • Manage engagement finances with junior team support.
  • Co-manage and coach junior staff.

Required skills:

  • Organisational skills: Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy.
  • Workload management: Proven capability to handle a dynamic workload, balancing competing demands while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Supporting junior development: Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Interpersonal skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong relationships: Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Enabling senior team members: Proactively support senior team members by taking ownership of tasks and contributing to the overall success of the team.

Desired Skills:

  • Ideally holding a CTA qualification or actively working towards this.
  • Experience or exposure to US global mobility tax practices.
  • Competence in reviewing complex tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
