A reputable construction company in Medway is currently looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of bookkeeping knowledge, with at least 3 years of consistent experience in the field. This role is essential for maintaining the company’s financial health and accuracy.
Day-to-day of the role: - Maintaining accurate financial records and performing routine bookkeeping duties including recording purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Collaborating with the accounting team to produce financial reports and assist with the analysis of financial data.
- Ensuring timely and accurate bookkeeping processes are in place and followed.
- Managing ledgers, processing business expenses, and handling payroll.
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Generating and processing invoices, tracking receivables, and managing collections.
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting audit preparations when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - A solid track record with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and a strong grasp of accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- The capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills, ensuring clear and concise financial reporting.
