Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate for their ASD Budget & Insurance team. This role is based in the vibrant city of London and offers an exciting opportunity to provide expertise on capital expenditure budget management and reporting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting ASD budget preparation, financial controls, expense processing, and financial reporting. They will also have the chance to deputise for the Associate Director, Head of ASD Budget and Insurance on matters pertaining to application of best accounting practices.

What you'll do:
As an Associate in our client's ASD Budget & Insurance team, your primary role will be to provide expertise on capital expenditure budget management and reporting. You will be responsible for supporting ASD budget preparation, financial controls, expense processing, and financial reporting. Your role will involve working closely with managers across 50+ Resident Offices on payments chargeable to ASD's budget. You will also be tasked with validating and processing major capital expenditure in both HQ and RO. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that Resident Offices have adequate property and liability insurance in place.

. Provide financial guidance and advice across ASD budget holders.
. Validate and process major capital expenditure in both HQ and RO.
. Undertake periodic capital expenditure budget utilisation review with budget managers.
. Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliation for approval and submission to Financial Accounting Unit.
. Ensure that Resident Offices have adequate property and liability insurance in place.
. Assist with coordinating and preparing the Departmental annual budget and forecast.
. Maintain and improve the collation, analysis and reporting of the department's key performance indicators.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Associate, ASD Budget & Insurance position brings a wealth of experience in cost and management accounting. You are part-qualified Accountant with proven experience of budgetary control functions. Your strong numerical skills coupled with your attention to detail make you an excellent fit for this role. You have a thorough knowledge of management accounting and fixed asset accounting, and you are proficient in using advanced Excel skills.
Your experience with Microsoft 365 working environment including power automate and Microsoft forms will be highly beneficial in this role.
. Part-qualified Accountant with sufficient practical experience in cost and management accounting.
. Proven experience of budgetary control functions.
. Thorough knowledge of management accounting and fixed asset accounting.
. Advanced Excel skills (eg consolidations, data tables, etc).
. Strong knowledge of SAP and working knowledge of other management information systems such as Data Warehouse.
. Experience of Insurance, contract review and Tableau will be advantageous.
. Experience with Microsoft 365 working environment including power automate and Microsoft forms.
