Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Building Services Manager with a strong background in building services engineering and construction management. The role involves overseeing the design, installation, and management of mechanical, electrical, and public service systems for commercial construction projects. Projects typically range up to £20 million and include media screens, retail units, shell and core developments, air conditioning units, International Departure Lounges (IDL), and walkway jetties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the design, installation, and commissioning of building service systems including mechanical, electrical, and public service elements.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
* Collaborate with project stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Services) systems.
* Oversee procurement of materials and equipment related to building services installations.
* Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and progress meetings to monitor project performance.
* Manage and mentor junior engineers and project staff as required.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (M&E) or Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP).
* Proven experience in managing building services engineering projects, ideally within commercial construction sectors.
* Strong knowledge and experience in designing and implementing mechanical, electrical, and public service systems.
* Familiarity with commercial construction standards, codes, and regulations.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
