Job Title: IT Systems Support Team Leader
Are you an experienced IT professional with a knack for leadership and a passion for guiding a team to success? Join our dynamic team as an IT Systems Support Team Leader, where you'll oversee and mentor a team of IT Systems Support Technicians, ensuring exceptional on-site and remote IT support for our clients. You'll play a crucial role in configuring, maintaining and documenting our clients' backups, disaster recovery, and security solutions, guaranteeing the resilience and security of their digital infrastructure.
This permanent, full-time position offers exciting leadership opportunities, requiring strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be expected to carry out technical tasks alongside your leadership duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of IT System Support Technicians providing guidance and support.
- Oversee and lead team members ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Conduct Regular team meetings to review progress, address issues and plan future tasks.
- Manage comprehensive backup solutions to protect critical data across various platforms and environments.
- Manage and document recovery procedures to ensure a swift and effective response in the event of data loss, system outages, or security incidents.
- Conduct regular testing and validation of recovery procedures with the team to identify and address potential weaknesses.
- Assist in the identification, containment, and recovery from security incidents impacting data availability.
- Manage existing monitoring systems to detect issues with backup processes and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct weekly periodic security assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities in backup systems.
- Handle DR and data recovery situations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for backup and recovery procedures, configurations, and policies.
- Install, manage and patch firewall and network protection systems/hardware.
- Manage the Team to ensure all client systems are fully protected with Antivirus software.
- Manage the Team ensuring all servers and workstations are fully updated/patched as required.
- Work with RMM (N-able) to monitor servers and workstations in key areas.
- Produce weekly reports required by the management team.
Skills and knowledge required:
- Proven leadership experience in an IT support environment, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Veeam Backup and Recovery.
- Experience of managing Anti-virus products and endpoint security products.
- Proficient in Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems with a strong technical foundation.
- Extensive knowledge of server operating systems and technologies, such as Microsoft Server, DHCP, and DNS, to ensure seamless network operations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 is essential.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls, enabling effective troubleshooting and network management.
- Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, essential for efficient coordination and seamless collaboration with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, maintaining composure and delivering optimal results in challenging situations.
- A passion for continuous learning, with a drive to expand your IT knowledge and qualifications.
- Possession of a full driving license, as the role requires travel to client locations.
Certifications, qualifications and experience required:
Industry certifications from Microsoft/Cisco/CompTIA would be an advantage. Experience in a similar role is essential.
