Position: Plumbing and Drainage Technician

Salary: £36,635.00 per annum

Location: Cheltenham

We are advertising this Plumbing and drainage Technician role on behalf of our client 'City Facilities Management’ under the M&S contract. City were established in 1985 and the company has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held, integrated FM companies.

Job Purpose:

To maintain and repair all above-ground sanitary ware and general plumbing in M&S stores and to maintain and clean all surface and foul water drainage systems in M&S stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.

Key Accountabilities:

• Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
• Where the sanitary ware or general plumbing/drainage is beyond repair, to make recommendations to the Area Maintenance Manager?regarding suitable replacement/alternatives.?
• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Ensure all retail staff are aware of and understand company practices and procedures relating to plumbing/drainage systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• NVQ2 Plumbing & Heating systems or equivalent.
• Full current driving licence
• Ability to complete a wide range of general plumbing and sanitary ware maintenance and repairs.
• Competent in the use of steps and ladders, working in confined spaces etc.? ?

Desirable but not essential:

• Course in water byelaws.
• L8 Legionella Control.
• Time-served apprenticeship with appropriate City and Guilds qualification.
