About the Company:

Our client are a dynamic and growing accountancy firm seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients across various industries, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. This is a client-facing role requiring excellent technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting junior team members.

About the Opportunity:

Due to growth they are looking for a new team member who will be working alongside the principals with varied duties.

About the Responsibilities:

* Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact for accounting and tax matters.

* Prepare and review year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts.

* Ensure all statutory deadlines are met for your client base.

* Provide proactive advice and support to clients on accounting, tax planning, and general financial matters.

* Review and oversee work prepared by junior staff, providing guidance and training where necessary.

* Identify opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies.

* Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to client retention and growth.

* Keep up to date with changes in tax and accounting legislation relevant to SME businesses.

* Support partners and managers with ad-hoc advisory and project work.

About the Applicant:

The successful candidate will be:

* ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualified (or finalist with relevant experience).

* At least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.

* Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.

* Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering to deadlines.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Strong IT skills, including accounting software such as TaxCalc, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.

* A proactive and commercial mindset with attention to detail.
