Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Dunbar Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our committed team at a leading SEN school devoted to providing exceptional educational experiences.

Job Summary: The SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) provides essential support to students with special educational needs, working under the guidance of the classroom teacher and SENCo to facilitate an inclusive learning environment. The role involves assisting with the delivery of tailored educational programmes, supporting students' academic and personal development, and helping to manage classroom behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning activities based on students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand and complete tasks
Support the emotional and social development of students, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere
Help with classroom organisation and management, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment
Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources
Observe and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other staff
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to address the holistic needs of students
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SENRequirements:

Minimum 6 months of experience working with SEN children, preferably in an educational setting
DBS certificate on the update service
Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (advantageous)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN
