About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team, reporting to the Group Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process for key categories, including beverages, bespoke sauces, Menu NPD, desserts, and Italian prepped goods (excluding retail).

The successful candidate must be solution-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and take a proactive approach. Flexibility with working hours and the ability to travel across the UK and EU is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Ownership: Manage supplier relationships and sourcing strategies for core categories to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
  • New Product Development & Innovation: Collaborate with culinary, marketing, and operations teams to introduce innovative products that enhance our menu offering.
  • Supplier & Contract Management: Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers, ensuring compliance with BRG’s standards.
  • Cost Management: Lead supplier negotiations and manage rebate programs to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align category strategies with business objectives.
  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity to drive category performance.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in procurement within the food and beverage sector, ideally in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable commercial terms.
  • Expertise in procurement systems and processes.
  • Ability to develop and execute category plans while ensuring fulfilment against supply agreements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Project management expertise with the ability to juggle multiple priorities across various brands.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK to visit restaurants and suppliers.
  • CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
