Our client is a specialist manufacturer providing multiple solutions for customers across Automotive, Aerospace, Defence and Mining sectors.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for the development and introduction of sourcing and category plans that will be designed to deliver a value for money supply base, with specific focus on cost, quality and delivery. Key duties:
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts and establish long-term agreements
- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan for commodities considering market factors
- Conduct cost analysis and bench marking to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Negotiate terms of business, competitive pricing and where applicable, service level agreements and performance expectations
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
- Actively promote and champion the use of best practice to ensure compliance with the organisations policies and procedures
- Select suppliers for NPI and Series production components in line with commodity strategy
- Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain maximum efficiencies and best costs
- Develop and report weekly KPI's to measure progress against company goals
What they're looking for
You will have demonstrable Purchasing experience and achievement within technical manufacturing environments that includes sound knowledge of negotiation, commercial agreements, cost breakdown and developing supplier relationships. A strong team player who can contribute to strategy and project delivery, you will have excellent communication skills and have an analytical approach to your Purchasing work. CIPS (full or part) qualified or a relevant degree (e.g. Engineering or Business) is beneficial but not must have.
