Anglian Water's Major Infrastructure Team helps to meet tomorrow's challenges today, by planning and delivering high-quality major infrastructure for the East of England that will help address major future challenges such as securing water supply for future generations, reaching net zero, adapting to climate change and restoring the environment. Delivering new jobs, improved opportunities for people in communities across the region and boosting local economies.Our Major Infrastructure team are involved in several major infrastructure projects, more widely known as Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects, or NSIPs and other accelerated infrastructure schemes. They are transformational projects that, if delivered, could contribute greatly to Anglian Water's purpose (to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to love every drop) and meeting our strategic direction objectives. The ones you may already be familiar with are our two new proposed reservoirs in Lincolnshire and the Fens.

We are currently looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to help us deliver our reservoir projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Defining and delivering the contract management strategy, ensuring this is aligned to the Project Objectives and Strategic Success Factors.

  • Be accountable for the development and subsequent implementation of the contract management function for our reservoir projects.

  • Be accountable for delivering high quality, robust NEC Contract Management and Contract Administration services.

  • Ensures Major Projects have the highest levels of integrity and holds accountability for implementing self-assurance across the contract administration function.

  • Lead on ensuring there is appropriate, responsive and defined contractual processes to enable efficient delivery to ensure risks of administering the contract management arrangements as low as practically possible.

  • Acts as contract interface with client, partner organisations & strategic stakeholders.

  • Ensures adherence to internal governance to satisfy contractual and legal requirements

  • Identifies and proactively manages and mitigates contractual risks.

  • Leads on any contractual dispute resolutions.

  • Fosters close working relationships with all key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Promote a culture where Health, Safety, Wellbeing and the Environment are always paramount.

  • Actively promote and achieve Health & Safety objectives by demonstrating the importance of Health & Safety and Wellbeing.

  • Proactively create and maintain a resourcing plan to meet the needs of the major projects.

  • Develop direct and indirect employees through structured training and development plans.

  • Carry out succession planning by identifying and developing key individuals

  • Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be accountable for the independent administration and execution of the NEC3/4 contracts across Major Infrastructure.

  • If contractual decisions are unable to be concluded at the various programme boards and governance groups the Senior Contracts Manager will, in their capacity, provide expert opinion to the Employer's PM under the contract to enable a decision.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Educated to degree level in Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience.

  • MRICS, MAPM, or another relevant Professional Body

  • Evidence of on-going leadership development and relevant personal development

  • Experience in similar role at a strategic or senior level

  • Working across complex matrix teams

  • Success at creating an aligned culture focussed on high performance.

  • Adept in use of standard forms of contract and developing contract strategies.

  • NEC3 & NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation (desirable)
