Job Title: Sports Coach - Special Educational Needs

Salary: £85- £95 a day

Location: Leicester

Contract: Full-Time - Temporary to permanent

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Sports Specialist to work at an SEN secondary provision were providing 1:1 and group support.

The role includes working 1:1 with children who have complex behavioural needs and using sports as a therapeutic method to manage challenging behaviours and to support the child's learning away from the classroom.

The role includes:

Providing 1:1 behaviour intervention for pupils who have challenging behaviour and Mental Health difficulties.
General Group support and using sports as an enrichment activity
Supporting the Class Teacher with daily tasks and planning.
Taking small groups of children out of the classroom to use sports as a learning method
Encourage learning and concertation in lessons
Leading sports classes indoors and outdoors
Identifying triggers of specific behaviours
Using sports as a method of de-escalating situations
Acting as a positive role model, energetic and always willing to support.
The ideal candidates will have:

Experienced in coaching/working with children or young people with additional needs previously.
Experienced working with Challenging Behaviour, Autism, ADHD and Social and Emotional Mental Health 
Relevant qualifications, qualifications in multiple sports will be an advantage
Must have a good understanding of the curriculum, English, Maths and Science.
Must be able to work full time - 5 days a week.
