Job Description:

SRVO is seeking an experienced, commercially minded leader to develop and enhance our risk assessment function. Our risk assessors conduct site-based risk assessments on our clients' portfolios covering internal and external common parts. With significant expansion planned, the scope to grow this department is a top priority for the group.

As Director of Risk, you will be responsible for developing a strategy to ensure growth and to maximise profitability for the business. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a business unit with instant impact and achievable results.

Our clients are primarily Residential Property Managers specialising in the management of all types of purpose-built residential developments across the UK. With the right leadership and investment, we aim to develop a first-class, market-leading service.

Key responsibilities and tasks include:

Lead, manage, and mentor a nationwide team of risk assessors undertaking Fire and General H&S Risk Assessments.
Develop and implement strategies to maximise profitability and grow the department.
Manage recruitment, supervision, and development of staff.
Market the department's services to the wider business and secure future projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Identify and implement strategies for future growth.
Drive the use of technology to improve workflow and efficiency.
Provide training opportunities for the wider business.
Engage with clients to ensure compliance and timely resolution of fire-related issues.
Meet all set KPI targets. 

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

A full clean driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
Strong knowledge of fire safety and H&S legislation, technical standards, and industry best practices.
Proven experience in conducting Fire and H&S Risk Assessments.
A professional qualification in fire safety management and risk assessments (e.g., Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association, NEBOSH).
A professional qualification in Health & Safety management and risk assessments (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
Membership in the Institute of Fire Engineers or a similar professional body (desirable).
Membership in the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (desirable).
Strong technical skills, including familiarity with industry-relevant software and systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Strong organisation and leadership skills with a strategic mindset.
Understanding of British Standards related to fire and life safety systems and Health and Safety.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally.
