Salary: £154 - £239 per day

Tradewind are seeking an experienced English teacher WITH QUALIFIED TEACHER STATUS IN THE UK to work in a North Birmingham mixed 11-16 mainstream secondary school from September 2024. This is a full-time, long-term supply role initially for 1 term with potential to join the school permanently from January.

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic success and literacy skills of students. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of young minds, fostering a love for literature, language, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging KS3 & KS4 English lessons for students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Foster a love for reading, writing, and effective communication skills among students.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall development of the English curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialisation or strong background in English/Literature.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and teaching best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inspiring a love of literature and language in students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level is ESSENTIAL.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
