Learning Support Assistant
A dedicated school for children aged 7-19 years, based in Horsham, who have special educational challenges, are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team of highly experienced professionals.
The school has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social and therapeutic needs of students, focusing on individual happiness and well-being where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Working as directed by the Classroom Teachers and Senior Leadership Team.
- Understand how a pupil's learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and understand the stages of child development.
- Make effective and efficient use of ICT for classroom and management support.
- Provide support and encouragement to children and young people.
- Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
- Participate in the marking of pupils' work and accurately record achievement/progress.
- Encourage children to value their experiences and knowledge.
- Be familiar and keep up to date with the school's systems and structures as outlined in policy documents including Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
- Be familiar and up to date with SEN Code of Practice.
Requirements of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Impose patience and understanding.
- Always be adaptable in any give situation.
- Be able to develop strong and positive relationships with children.
- Committed to working as part of a team.
Preffered Experience:
Enhanced DBS needed.
