Main purpose of job

The Resource & Planning manager will have excellent recruitment skills to strengthen our services across YMCA Together, and will be responsible for ensuring safer recruitment practices are adhered to.

Our flexible support staff (internal Bank) are at the heart of our organisation, and with you we can continue to support our local communities. You will therefore be committed to recruiting and inducting an engaged team of both permanent and Bank to the highest of standards, to ensure our staff align with our organisational values.

You will work with professional integrity in line with our organisation values, and be a real team player getting involved with wider HR projects when required.

The role will also involve collating and providing management information including (but not exhaustive), the cost of overtime and Agency spend on a monthly basis.

Hours of Work

The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week and may include some bank holidays.

Main Responsibilities

Support our Managers and HR Team in following the organisations safer recruitment process.

Research and recommend new initiatives which support the resourcing needs of this role.

Support the compliance requirements of the role, ensuring that any risk Is minimised.

Work collaboratively with Managers to manage our in house over time app to source cover for services, ensuring there is cover in place where required.

Collate and manage data using various platforms, which helps build an understanding of any key themes emerging, and make recommendations.

Work with our HR Team to review and develop new recruitment and retention strategies, policies, and procedures with support from the Head of HR.

Assist with the development of candidate attraction and take an active role in assessment days in line with our organisational values.

Develop and deliver bank staff induction training to ensure new and existing employees can safely carry out their roles.

Be a strong leader and supervise bank staff across all services, in a kind and respectful manner.

Effectively gather feedback from bank staff through supervisions, focus groups and exit interviews.

Build robust relationships with local universities, colleges, and local communities to ensure we are recruiting a diverse workforce, whilst raising our organisation's profile.

Monitor the effectiveness of bank staff placements, ensuring communication and feedback is given.

Establish and maintain up to date bank records and all associated administrative tasks are completed such as application forms, DBS, right to work checks and supervisions.

Responsible for updating the team on new starters, variations, and leavers across the organisation.

Deal with complex cases and investigations involving the bank worker team alongside the HR team.

Support the HR team with any arising projects

Carry out any reasonable management request as required

Professional Practice and Development

Attend regular supervision sessions with the Line Manager in accordance with the supervision contract

Maintain good professional practice and ensure ongoing development, through use of supervision and training

Respect the confidentiality of employees and be responsible for the security of personal and confidential information

Carry out all these duties within the organisation's safety guidelines.

GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

Educated to A level or equivalent

CIPD L5

Experience

Experience of safe recruitment practices, leadership and Administration.

Experience of leading a team/line managing.

Competent in managing fluctuating resource requirements.

Experience of working at pace in a fast moving environment.

Experience of working in homeless services

Experience of managing projects

Knowledge

Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Excel

Management Information reporting

Knowledge of GDPR

Knowledge of work-based Health and Safety issues

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to collate data and manage database packages

Organised, with excellent planning and time management skills

Strong and demonstrable people management skills
