Job Title: CNC Lathe Setter - Mazak Controls

The Opportunity:

BCS Connect is recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter to join a growing precision engineering company based in Dudley. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in quality and precision, and who wants to be part of a well-established, supportive team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC Lathes using Mazak controls, producing small batches and one-off components to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Set and operate CNC lathes with Mazak controls

*

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics

*

Set up tooling, speeds, feeds, and make offset adjustments

*

Produce one-off and small batch components to tight tolerances

*

Conduct in-process and first-off inspections using manual measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)

*

Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy

*

Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times

*

Assist with basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Setter (ideally 3+ years)

*

Strong working knowledge of Mazak controls (Mazatrol)

*

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately

*

Competent in manual measuring and inspection

*

Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Flexible attitude with a willingness to support others when needed
