We are working with a real pioneer in their field who have developed highly innovative imaging system that makes significant improvements to QA within the Semiconductor and Microelectronic sector as well as supporting research within nanotechnology and materials development amongst other areas. Having spent a number of years developing their technologies and commercialised a product range they are now looking to recruit an ambitious Business Developer who will take the product to market.
The successful Business Development Manager will take the lead in day to day sales to existing customers and developing new business opportunities. Working closely with a small team of experts, you’ll play the pivotal in identifying, developing and closing sales with global organisations. Whilst you’ll likely work across a number of industry sectors, many opportunities exist selling direct to semi-conductor organisations, micro/nano-electronics and numerous other materials, nanotech and associated sectors. Working with global customers, this role will likely be home office based with very few in-person visits although you’ll likely attend a number of events and exhibitions each year.
The organisation is seeking an ambitious, pro-active and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to make a real impact of sales. They are looking for an experienced sales person with a proven track record selling in to a similar customer base. The company develop products that are at the leading edge of microscopy and pushing the boundaries of technology development. You will have a keen interest in science or engineering and will be looking for a role that is at the cutting edge. You’ll be joining a small business and will be a stand-alone sales person for the organisation but will have additional responsibilities to support customer with new user training and product instillation (full training provided).
Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Support in the development of the sales strategy and market mapping.
- Engage in outbound sales activities, often by online meetings, calls and emails as well as occasional client visits
- Support in the development of a CRM to detail and progress existing customers and categories prospects and suspects
- Network within Research/Industry organisations and attend key sector events and academic symposium
- Support in the development of marketing material, presentations and associated literature
- Provide technical advice and support to customers; including some product training/application support
- Understand market trends and client demands, feeding back product innovation opportunities to the R&D team
- Accurate forecasting of sales pipeline to management
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven field Sales experience
- Recent background selling lab/scientific/precision-engineering instrumentation
- Current/recent experience selling to the semi-conductor, materials or related sectors (industry and/or academia)
- Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred but not mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with microscopy & applications would be beneficial but is not essential
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex scientific concepts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
