Mechanically Biased Engineer (Planned & Reactive Maintenance)

Full-Time (39 hours/week, day shift)

BMR Solutions is proud to partner with a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Bristol to recruit a Mechanically Biased Engineer for their growing team. This role offers the chance to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment, supporting both planned maintenance and reactive repairs on critical machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and react swiftly to machinery breakdowns.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

* Support basic electrical fault-finding (3-phase systems, control gear, and PLCs).

* Perform fabrication/welding tasks as required (TIG/MIG experience advantageous).

* Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations (e.g., LOLER, PUWER).

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimise downtime and drive efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

* Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong mechanical bias.

* Proven experience in industrial maintenance (hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication).

* Basic electrical knowledge (3-phase systems, control panels, PLCs).

* Ability to interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.

* Formal qualifications (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering).

* Experience with MRP systems or predictive maintenance tools.
