This Senior Estimator role will be key to the pre-construction team, providing detailed and accurate cost estimates on new build and regeneration projects, with values typically ranging from £50m to £150m. The successful candidate will play a critical role in securing work through competitive tenders and negotiated opportunities.

Key responsibilities for this Senior Estimator role:

Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates from early feasibility through to final tender submission

Manage the full tender process including pricing, risk assessments, and bid presentation

Liaise with internal design, planning, and delivery teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in estimates

Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

*

Identify value engineering opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality

*

Prepare and present commercial reports for senior leadership and clients

Attend tender interviews and provide technical support throughout the pre-construction phase

Mentor and guide junior estimators as part of a wider estimating function

Requirements for this Senior Estimator role:

Proven experience as a Senior Estimator with a main contractor or developer

*

Strong background in estimating residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments

*

Confident in the use of estimating software and digital take-off tools

*

Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and procurement

*

Commercially astute with excellent analytical and reporting skills

*

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

*

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline

*

Professional memberships (such as MRICS or MCIOB) are advantageous but not essential
