Introduction:

Time Recruitment is representing a well-established legal practise seeking an experienced Costs Draftsperson/Advocate to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, self-motivated professional with a keen eye for detail who is comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines. There is also potential for progression, including managing a small team or overseeing a dedicated client account.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting bills of costs for a variety of cases, including:

Personal injury
Industrial disease
Commercial matters
Clinical negligence
Credit claims

Preparing schedules of costs and statements for trial
Providing cost advice to clients in writing or via telephone regarding:

Settlement recovery
Technical issues

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Cost Budgets and preparing documentation for the CCMC
Attending CCMC/CMC hearings to advocate on Cost Budgets and directions
Conducting regular file reviews and using Proclaim (case management system) and Costs Master (cost drafting software) to ensure timely case progression
Meeting agreed performance targets, including:

Daily chargeable time
Annual billing goals

Requirements:

Proven experience in costs drafting and advocacy
Strong knowledge of costs law and procedures
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Proclaim and Costs Master (preferred but not essential)
Ability to work in accordance with professional standards, money laundering regulations, and regulatory requirements
