Interim Financial Controller | Fast Growth Retail Start-Up | Central London

Harmonic are proud to be working exclusively with a PE backed fast growth retail start-up who are looking to bring in an Interim Financial Controller for 3-6 months with the potential to go permanent.

The Client:

The company have cultivated an exceptional reputation and are best known for their wide variety of high quality, sustainable products which have taken the industry by storm. Their culture reflects their products with a strong people-focused approach both internally and externally resulting in a customer-focused approach which has further solidified their position in the market.

Building upon their incredibly strong foundations in the UK with a blend of brick and mortar presence and an online community, they have already expanded across to the US. They are now poised to take on their next stage of growth with the sky truly being the limit via their highly successful D2C e-commerce platform. This is reflected in their performance with revenue already upwards of £10M and headcount growing drastically making this a very exciting time to join the team and have an impact as they continue to scale.

The role:

Reporting directly into the COO, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance function and will also have involvement in the strategic direction of the business, making improvements within the business to drive profitability and position them for further growth.

• Overall responsibility for the management of the finance function, overseeing all aspects of financial operations
• Full ownership of month-end activities
• Responsible for managing the budgeting and forecasting process
• Implementing and streamlining processes to increase efficiencies across the business.
• Leading and nurturing the finance team, acting as a mentor.
• Acting cross-functionally, partnering with teams across the company, ensuring finance is a front-office function.
• Ensuring the business has robust financial controls
• Ensuring the company's financial practices are complying with regulations and legislation

What we need to see (essential)

• Fully Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Ability to act as a true business partner across the company
• Experience in a retail/fashion/e-commerce/product based environment

What we would like to see (non-essential)

• Track record of scaling a start-up through a growth journey
• Previous experience working in a VC/PE-backed environment

Length of Contract: 3-6 months
