Children Residential Home Manager

Our client is a London based care provider delivering a very high standard of support and care to the individuals both in supported living accommodation and in the comfort of their own homes.

Their core philosophy revolves around promoting independence, autonomy, and community involvement to the greatest extent possible. They pride themselves on a person-centered approach, tailoring care to meet the specific needs of each service user.

They now require an experienced professional with experience in the management of a Children's Home or as a deputy/ward manager in a mental health secured unit or hospital facility for children. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the entire process of the day-to-day running and management of OFSTED Registered Children's Homes.

The role will cover 3 homes in South London and will be hybrid with 2-3 days per week based at home.

The Registered Manager position is particularly varied and would be a combination of supporting the team and working hands-on with the young people within the homes. The Registered Manager will review and ensure good standards of practice in recording and monitoring, liaison with other agencies and contact with the local community. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and 'warm' culture throughout the team and the service.

Essential:

* Experience (minimum 2 years) of working with vulnerable children and young people in a residential children's home environment or in a mental health secured unit or hospital facility for children.

* Experience (minimum 1 year) in managing staff including completing supervision and appraisal processes

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (Children and Young People's Residential Management pathway) or equivalent

* Ability to oversee the management of the service

* Willingness to complete direct work including sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays, when necessary

* Experience in managing budgets

* Good standard of written and verbal English, including report writing and assessment skills

* Knowledge of the regulatory framework for the field

* Positive and non-judgemental value base

* Ability to demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice

* Good working knowledge of relevant legislation related to the role including safeguarding, children's home regulations and health and safety legislation

Desirable:
