GSL Education Kent are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a SEN school in Sevenoaks.

Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to and become integral members of an innovative educational setting that prioritises both student development and progress with Special Educational Needs. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the academic journey of all SEN students, ensuring inclusive and supportive learning experiences for every individual.

Key responsibilities of an English Teacher for SEN students include:

Cultivating active participation and critical thinking to create an engaging learning atmosphere for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Offering constructive feedback and personalised support to ensure academic awareness for each student with special needs.
Work closely with SEN coordinators, support staff, and parents to collaborate on the development and revision of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
Collaborating with colleagues to enrich the English curriculum and facilitate interdisciplinary learning.
Implementing diverse teaching methods and resources to cater to the needs of students with learning challenges.
Provide one-to-one support to each student.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices and new developments in SEN education.
Identify and employ suitable resources, such as technology and assistive devices, to enhance the learning and growth of students with SEND.
 Maintain the safety and welfare of all students, following the school's safeguarding policies and procedures diligently.

Requirements for English Teacher:

Possess a bachelor's degree along with a UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTLS, QTS, or PGCE.
Demonstrated experience teaching English within a school environment and children with special needs.
Strong familiarity with SEN and advantageous experience supporting students with varied needs.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to support students with special needs.
Display patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to assisting students with special educational requirements.
