Salary: £40000 - £45000/annum

Holt Executive has partnered with a market-leading design & manufacturing company that works in a variety of industry sectors, including Naval Defence, Maritime & Marine Science & Technology.

The business requires an Electronics Engineer to join their team and be responsible for the design and development of electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications.

Key Responsibilities for the Electronics Engineer:

Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, preferably within an instrumentation development environment.
Involvement in mixed-signal design, including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing, and analogue-to-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications.
Essential experience or knowledge in microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software.
Desirable experience or knowledge in FPGA-based circuit design.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, contributing to all stages of the product development cycle, from requirement analysis to design, development, and production.
Expected to produce design documentation and test specifications.
IPC certification preferred (training available).
Proficiency in OrCAD design software or similar tools. 
Key Skills & Experience Required by the Electronics Engineer:

Desired Skills -

Basic Analog components/circuits
Operational Amplifier circuits
Power supply technology
Circuit analysis, modelling, and theory
Analog-Digital Conversion
Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
CAD Schematic layout
CAD PCB design
Fault finding
Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
Use of PAL/FPGA technologies.
Linux and other OS 
Qualifications-

BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline (2:1 or higher) 
Other Requirements:

Due to the nature of the role, there will be an occasional need for working outside normal working hours.
There will be a need to travel to customer sites on an occasional basis.
Candidate would be expected to provide occasional offshore support as required including some overseas travel. 
Security Clearance Requirements:

Security clearance will be applied for on appointment - UK passport holders require plus proof of residency in UK for last 5 years.
