We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Spinal Specialist MSK Physiotherapist to join our Outpatient Physiotherapist team at The London Clinic, based at our main site in London (W1G 6BW). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £52,488 - £62,978 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Job Profile:

As the Band 7 Spinal Specialist MSK Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing expert physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education and discharge of patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, specialising in complex spinal problems. You will be expected to provide a diagnosis, develop, and deliver an individualised treatment plan, utilising your clinical and organisational skills to meet the needs of both patients and The Clinic.

  • Job Type: Permanent, Full Time.
  • Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
  • Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW.
  • Salary: £52,488 - £62,978 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Key Duties:

  • Act independently to formulate, implement, evaluate and deliver specialised individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options e.g., patient education, exercise classes, cognitive behavioural therapies, manual physiotherapy techniques.
  • To undertake expert assessment of own clinical caseload, including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies; to interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts, use developed expert clinical reasoning skills to safely manage patient even when the information received during assessment may be complex and findings conflicting.
  • To identify and manage clinical risk within own patient caseload and monitor others e.g. less experienced physiotherapists, assistants and technical instructors.
  • Work multi-professionally with consultants, nurses, GPs and other health care professionals and agencies. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning.
  • To provide clinical leadership to the spinal service to drive service development and influence clinical practices to enhance quality, productivity and value.
  • To be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the pain groups as part of the multi-disciplinary management of patients with persistent pain using different cognitive behavioural frameworks.
  • To be an active member of the in-service training programme by the attendance and delivering of presentations and training sessions at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions in house and by attending external courses and practising reflective practice.
  • To provide supervision, training and support to students and band 6 physiotherapists.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience of working at a senior level as a physiotherapist in musculoskeletal outpatients, with experience in all core areas. Experience gained in a Private Hospital healthcare setting desirable.
  • Experience in managing patients with persistent pain.
  • Experience in leading quality improvement projects and/or audit.
  • Experience in line managing junior staff members.
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of communication skills to coach, mediate, negotiate, present and train.
  • IT skills, including; exercise prescription and diary system management, excel for data collection and analysis, and PowerPoint for workshops and IST.
  • Experience attending spinal MDT meetings, delivering workshops, and managing groups sessions is highly desirable.
