Support Students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs

A well-established secondary school in London is looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage in learning and achieve their potential.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

* Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement personalised support plans.

* Help students develop emotional resilience, confidence, and self-regulation skills.

* Support students in both academic and social aspects of school life.

* Assist in delivering interventions and strategies to help students overcome barriers to learning.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

* Have experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.

* Be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

* Have strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.

* Be able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

* Hold relevant qualifications in education, child development, or mental health (desirable but not essential).
