Robert Half are recruiting a Group Financial Controller to join a global business, who are going through a period of significant & positive change.

The Role: As the Group Financial Controller, reporting into the Group Finance function and working closely with the business partnering team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all finance-related aspects of the site. This newly created opportunity is key in driving strategic growth plans for the business.

Job Title: Group Financial Controller

Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum

Location: Cardiff Area - Hybrid working offered with the option to work from home one day per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the efficient management of financial operations.
  • Analysing and reporting on financial performance.
  • Accountable for delivering precise, high-quality monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Leading monthly financial reviews of UK and international subsidiaries.
  • Collaborating with the various heads of departments to ensure the budgeting and forecasting is accurate.
  • Designing, implementing, and reviewing accounting controls.
  • Deep understanding of business budgets and forecasts and their impact on strategic objectives.
  • Building strong relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and developing the finance team to aid continual growth and development.
  • Supervising the annual audit process and coordinating with external personnel as needed.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Supporting Senior Leadership on key strategic projects.

Experience and Skills:

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience of leading a finance team within a group function.
  • Ability to lead, train, and support a high-achieving team across multiple locations.
  • Excellent skills in financial systems and Excel to facilitate growth and generate management reports.
  • Independent decision-making capabilities and clear communication of financial data and procedures.
  • Expertise in minimising risks by identifying and addressing key dependencies in financial processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • A proactive approach to questioning and improving current practices.
  • Engaged in sharing knowledge both within the team and externally as needed.
  • Readiness to travel when necessary.
