Senior Database Systems Administrator - Contract roleRole OverviewThe Senior Database Systems Administrator is a pivotal role within the Project Management Office (PMO). The individual will ensure the stability, reliability, and modernization of database systems, with a focus on legacy systems, database migrations, and cloud integrations. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust database solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Database Design and Maintenance: Architect, develop, and maintain stable and reliable database systems across multiple platforms.
- Legacy Systems Management: Reverse-engineer, document, and troubleshoot legacy databases (e.g., Access, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) to ensure continuity and support.
- Migration and Integration: Plan and execute the migration of legacy databases to cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Server, AWS).
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, CRM Developers, and Project Managers to design data architecture and end-to-end business solutions.
- Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical and architectural documentation.
- System Monitoring and Support: Monitor database performance, ensure data integrity, troubleshoot issues, and implement regular updates and patches.
- Disaster Recovery and Security: Develop backup and recovery strategies, ensuring robust data security and compliance.

- Implement database best practices and provide technical leadership for database development projects.

Essential Qualifications- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in database systems administration.
- Expertise: Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, legacy systems, and cloud platforms.
- Certifications: Professional certification in SQL Server or equivalent.
- Skills: Proficiency in reverse engineering legacy systems, data modeling, and lifecycle development processes.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level English or C2 Mastery/Proficiency certification for non-native speakers.
