Location: Ideally Midlands based ( extensive travel) - on-site/ remote mix


Salary: Circa £65,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance, Fuel Card, Bonus



Our client is a leader in telecommunications, designing and deploying gigabit networks that connect communities, homes, and businesses across urban and rural areas.


The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shared services Operations team. Ensuring efficient and effective delivery of support operational services, across various workstreams. This role involves managing your team, and their processes, optimising performance, and driving continuous improvement to enhance delivery and operational excellence


Key Responsibilities: - Operations Manager - Telecoms


Operational Management:


  • Oversee daily operations of the shared services team, ensuring quality, health & safety, and logistics standards.
  • Manage data flow from field to design, aligning with client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead technical deployments for new workstreams and ensure resources are effectively allocated.
  • Use data analysis to streamline processes, improve KPIs, and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement operational policies to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.


Team Leadership:


  • Lead and motivate the team, fostering collaboration and productivity.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and facilitate professional development.
  • Manage workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding to ensure the team is properly staffed.


Process Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities to optimise processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for continuous improvement and automation.
  • Implement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management:


  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Resolve field-based and technical issues promptly.
  • Serve as the primary contact for escalations and provide regular updates on service performance.


Compliance and Risk Management:


  • Ensure compliance with field, StreetWorks, PIA, and client regulations.
  • Collaborate with HSEQ teams to meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and conduct audits to ensure adherence to best practices.



Qualifications



·      Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Telecoms Operations Management, with a proven track record of success.


·      Skilled in FTTH Deployment


·      Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.


·      Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.


·      Proficient in using GIS tools and software.


·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.


·      Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to shared services operations.


·      Relevant Industry Specific Certifications.
