We have a new job opportunity available for a Senior Accounts Assistant, based in Basildon. This offers a salary of £32'000 to £40'000, depending on your experience.

As the Senior Accounts Assistant, you will be based full time at the office in Basildon, your benefits will include holiday, pension and free on-site car parking. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join their team as a Senior Accounts Assistant. As the Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting their finance department by performing various accounting tasks.

Your responsibilities will include…
• Supporting with VAT preparation and submission.
• Act as Credit Control, pursuing payment of unpaid invoices
• Sending statements to customers
• Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts
• Maintain Sales Ledger inclusive of monitoring and maintaining credit limits
• Resolving disputes
• Taking care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing and printing
• Assist with the sales and purchase ledger
• Prepare and analyse data using our inhouse systems
• Supporting with Management Reporting and Accounts, Monthly, Quarterly and Annually
• Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies
• Assist with tax planning, budgeting and management meetings, as and when required
• Weekly debtors review with Management
• Ensure compliance with EC Sales documentation
• Process customer card payments
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, and analysis of financial information
• Other general accounting duties and covering accounts team annual leave / sickness as and when required.

To be considered for this opportunity you need…
• Experience of processing high volume of work in a busy environment.
• Experience of preparing and submitting VAT.
• Experience of working for multiple companies under one group.
• 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance role is required.
• AAT level 4 is desired, but not essential, should you have the equivalent work history.
• To have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
