Adecco are supporting a London Borough Council team in a service role as a Children's Centre Early Years Practitioner

Job Title: Children's Centre Early Years Practitioner

Location: East London

Pay rate: £13.70 per hour

Contract Details: Temporary, 5-month, with potential to extend, 21 hours per week

Responsibilities:

As a Children's Centre Early Years Practitioner, your main responsibility will be to contribute to our client's Children's Centre core offer and achieve Development Matters outcomes and objectives aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework. You will work collaboratively with the Children's Centres and Early Years Play and Development (EYPaD) Centre Teams to deliver high-quality services and improve outcomes for children and families.

In this role, you will facilitate groups for families with children under 5 years based on the Development Matters and EYFS framework. You will also identify families who may require additional support and provide them with information about local services or sign-post them to Children's Centres. Additionally, you will offer parents advice and guidance to optimise their visit and promote home learning in line with our client's Children's Centre core offer.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education)
  • Experience in working with children aged 0-5 years
  • Solid understanding of the EYFS statutory framework
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a passion for supporting the development and well-being of young children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with children, families, and other professionals. Experience in delivering high-quality early years services and working within a multi-agency environment will be highly advantageous.

This is a part-time position, requiring 21 hours of work per week.

Role subject to a DBS check completion.
