Salary: £85,000 - £110,000 per annum

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Financial Controller to join a prestigious family office, overseeing the financial affairs of an ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) family with over £1bn in assets under management (AUM) across a diverse portfolio of assets, including real estate, art collections, luxury vehicles, and investments. This is a rare opportunity to step into a key financial role within a family office environment, working closely with the Finance Director as part of a succession plan.  As Financial Controller, you will oversee all finance-related matters in the UK, France and US. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial strategy for the family’s varied property portfolio as well as managing refurbishments, construction projects and personal requests.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial management of the family office’s assets across UK, France and US
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Cashflow management, tax planning, and financial efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Project accounting for the refurbishments of real estate assets
  • Analyse financial performance, providing insights and work closely with the Finance Director on strategic financial planning.
  • Liaise with external advisors, including auditors, tax specialists, legal and HR advisors.
  • Oversee payroll and manage external payroll providers in all jurisdictions
  • Operational involvement including overseeing IT and HR
  • Manage and mentor other finance team member  
Skills / Experience:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent), with at least 5 years post qualified experience
  • Highly detail-oriented and acquisitive, with exceptional analytical, budgetary and forensic skills. Ability to make strong decisions regarding cash flow
  • Experience working in a family office, private wealth or real estate environment would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with investment accounting, project accounting and portfolio management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with stakeholders and external advisors, as well as question / interpret / analyse advice given
  • Good tax knowledge including VAT and transfer pricing
  • An understanding of HR would be desirable
  • Proficient in financial software and strong Excel skills – SAGE experience would be beneficial
  • Discreet and trustworthy, with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
