Accounts Assistant

Based: Manchester centre (hybrid after training)

Salary: up to £28k + study support for AAT and potential for CIMA/ACCA

Our client is a market-leading business based in the centre of Manchester (Spinningfields area). Operating in an exciting industry, the company are passionate about their people & growth with many of the finance team completing their AAT/ACA/CIMA studies with the business over the last 10 + years. Due to internal progression, this is a newly created role allowing you to follow in the footsteps of the Management Accountant & Finance Manager as the business grows whilst offering a truly unrivalled opportunity/experiences/exposure.

Role:

• Monitoring accounts receivable inbox, dealing with email/telephone queries
• Obtaining approval for invoices internally and processing on system
• Preparing payment runs & ad hoc payments at request
• Creation of Quarterly Sales invoices and disbursement invoices for distribution
• Monthly processing of staff expenses, preparation of expenses review document
• Monthly reconciliation of credit card statement
• Monitoring bank accounts and updating company cashbooks
• Preparing monthly journals for the management accounts
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
• Support with annual audit process
• Supporting finance team with ad-hoc requests

Experience/Person:

• AAT Level 3 or Level 4 (either studying or completed) essential
• Strong attention to detail & extremely organised
• Confident in your ability, able to use initiative and be interested and committed in your work & to learning/developing your career
• Strong communication skills and able to build relationships at all levels
• Good understanding of debits & credits - essential
