TeachMatch Recruitment is proud to be working with a number of leading Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Sheffield, who are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their supportive and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is eager to support students with additional needs and help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of learning needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and physical disabilities.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning programs and activities.
- Help to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Support students with personal care and mobility where necessary.
- Monitor student's progress, recording observations, and providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Encourage students to build independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere for students to develop.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a special education or SEN setting, is essential.
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply for one).
