This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced service engineer to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment.
Job Description:
Site-based and in-house pre-fitting and assembly of various types of distribution and power transformers and associated packages
Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, pre-assembly images & parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies
Travel to third-party sites both in the UK and Europe to build up the equipment and test
Ensure that all equipment is assembled and tested to the highest standard
Customer-facing ambassador whilst on site and able to deliver excellent customer service levels, even when sometimes under pressure
Use of initiative in an environment with changing priorities whilst always focussing on completing a task safely
Read and understand mechanical and schematic drawings
Use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role
Identify and work with colleagues to resolve site-related challenges
To work unsociable hours when required to meet customer needs
Keep up to date with legislative updates and communications
To follow all reasonable requests by Management and Supervisors, to include duties not specified in this job descriptionBeneficial Skills / Experience:
Experience and competence of working on site fitting distribution and power transformers and associated packages
Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings
Apprentice trained or a Mechanical/Electrical qualification
Experience of Health & Safety and conducting risk assessments
ECS accreditation
Full UK driving licence
Transformer full testing experience is desirable
You will have good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner
Strong trouble shooting skills
Excellent attention to detail
You will be flexible and adaptable and be prepared to attend site at short notice which may be outside your normal working hours
Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel with the ability to train and enhance your work colleagues' skills.
Ideally experience of working within a continuous improvement environment
Ideally have up to date training on Overhead Crane/Slinging Lifting certification
Ideally have a FLT licence
Ideally IPAF certificationAdditional Details:

Ability to travel to UK / Europe and main UK site in Leeds.
