Purpose of the Interim Finance Business Partner in HaveringInsite are seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner in Havering for a client that sits within the public sector, this role is designed for an experienced, fully qualified accountant to implement and lead the business partnering function within an important division. As a Business Partner, you will work closely with the service leadership teams to support, challenge, and advise on service plans and projects. You will also be responsible for assisting in managing performance for the business partnering team and contributing to financial planning and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities - Interim Finance Business Partner in Havering
- Provide proactive financial advice and support, particularly focused on delivering savings for the service area.
- Ensure that financial information is balanced, accurate, and received by decision-makers at the appropriate levels.
- Support managers to input and analyse information effectively in financial systems.
- Guide managers to develop their own financial management skills and ensure they have the necessary tools and information.
- Lead and motivate staff through clear communication, professional guidance, and development in line with council policies.
- Foster a customer-focused environment, promoting self-service and reducing finance support.
- Provide advice to senior leaders, members, and external stakeholders on financial issues.
- Ensure effective financial support to projects and programmes, ensuring they meet financial objectives.
Person Specification - Interim Finance Business Partner in Havering
- Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with substantial experience in finance.
- Experience in local government or public sector finance is desirable.
- Experience as a Finance Business Partner is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience motivating and developing teams.
- High level of customer service, with the ability to anticipate and meet the needs of stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop cross-functional relationships.
