What we're looking for
We're seeking an Accounts/Payroll Administrator with payroll experience. You will be open minded, happy to work on your own or as part of a team. You will be responsible for all payroll processes and functions with ad-hoc accounts tasks across Mercator IT Solutions.

Crowborough/London/South East - you will be expected to travel to our Crowborough when required.
As the Payroll Administrator you will:
- Collect new employee details (P45/new starter form), adding them to payroll and advising them of payment times and how to log in to download their payslips/P60s etc.
- Process new starters/finishers.
- Maintain accurate records, advising accountants of any changes.
- Ensure billable staff have recorded their hours on our timesheet portal and assist with any queries.
- Calculate any overtime pay required.
- Calculate all commission associated with sales staff and send records to each individual.
- Record any deductions for the electric vehicle scheme, pensions, cycle to work etc.
- Handle maternity/paternity/sickness pay.
- Submit accurate monthly pay records to accountants each month including any changes to salary, deductions, commission etc.
- Handle queries in payment issues and ensure corrections are done in compliance with legislation.
- Handle other accounts duties as and when required.
You will have:
- 3-5 years of experience working in a busy payroll function.
- Good administration, planning, organising and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on your own initiative, working within a team and the ability to meet deadlines.
- High level of customer service orientation and ability to deal with people at all levels.
- Good computer skills, including excel spreadsheets and word documents at a proficient level.
- Experience of using Sage or other accounting package.
- Up-to-date knowledge of PAYE rules/Auto-enrolment pension.
- Experience of advising employees on payroll issues eg PAYE and NIC matters.
You will need:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Educated to degree level OR relevant experience/qualification within payroll processing.
