A leading and long-established accountancy and advisory firm is seeking an ambitious Audit Assistant Manager to join its growing Audit & Assurance team in Norwich. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced auditor to take on a varied and client-facing role, working with an eclectic mix of owner-managed businesses, charities, academies and more.

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key player in managing audits from planning to completion. You’ll lead on-site teams, liaise directly with clients, and mentor junior team members, all while delivering high-quality service.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion (approx. 70% of role)
  • Preparing accounts and drafting corporate tax computations ( approx. 30%)
  • Reviewing work prepared by team members and providing clear feedback
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, resolving queries confidently and professionally
  • Supporting, coaching, and developing more junior members of the team
  • Managing assignments within set budgets and timelines
  • Contributing to the firm’s commitment to high standards and continuous improvement

Candidate Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience)
  • Demonstrable experience conducting statutory audits within a practice environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • Confident communicator with previous client-facing experience
  • Competency with audit software (e.g. Caseware) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Passion for mentoring and developing team members
  • A proactive and organised approach to workload management
