Clinical Lead Psychologist - West Yorkshire Prisons

Hours: 37.5hrs/week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE

Compass Associates is proud to be working with the UK's leading healthcare provider within secure environments, to recruit a full time permanent Clinical Lead Psychologist to cover their West Yorkshire prisons.

You'd divide your week between five prisons (ranging from Category A to D) where you'd work with vulnerable males and females who have high risk behaviours and backgrounds including mental health conditions, addiction, complex trauma and neurodiversity. Due to their complex histories, will use a range of therapeutic interventions (both 1:1 and group sessions) and a trauma-informed approach. You would be a key member of each prison's MDT where you'd work with GPs, Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialist Nurses, Pharmacists and ANPs. There is also an opportunity to deliver training to healthcare professionals and prison staff, as well as be involved in audits, research and service development.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist who has experience working within secure, forensic or prison environments as you'd hold a small but complex caseload. As Clinical Lead, you'd provide supervision, advice and senior clinical leadership to more Junior Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.

Location

You will spent 2 days/week in Leeds, with the remaining 3 days working between the other four prisons depending on need.

Candidate criteria:

* Full HCPC registration

* Recognised degree in Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychology

* Clinical leadership experience

* Training in supervision

* Experience working within prison and/or secure mental health environments

Interview Process

Formal panel interview with the National Psychology Lead and Head of Healthcare, followed by a site visit.
