Our client is a skilled civil subcontractor who holds over 20 years of experience within the construction industry, they have an extensive amount of experience dealing with various developments, however withhold specialties operating in groundworks, drainage and hard landscaping. They operate in various places around the UK and hold an impressive track record of delivering projects up to standard in a safely manor.

The Project

As a highly experienced Site Engineer you will oversee the groundworks package on a £9m new build residential development in North Yorkshire. Your role will focus on managing the technical and engineering aspects of construction, ensuring that the works are executed with accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to high standards.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

Valid CSCS CardIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;

Proven history of successfully delivering groundworks packages in excess of £2m
Extensive background in the industry with at least 5 years of experience of operating in a Site Engineer position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractorAdditional skills;

IT Skills
Excellent attention to detail
Effective time management
Competent surveying techniques
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Skillful in maintaining high quality standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in utilising construction management software, CAD tools, and other relevant technology
Possess a strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and project specificationsThe Role

Reporting to: Visiting Contracts ManagerDuties

Surveying
Setting out
Quality assurance
Create as built surveys and log data
Provide technical advice to project team members and clients
Analyse and execute technical drawings, plans, and specifications
Collaborate closely with the team to facilitate seamless project implementation
Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of all site personnel
Collaborate with other members of site staff to set up and uphold project schedules
Identify and address any technical issues or challenges encountered during the construction
Perform site surveys and establish reference points, lines, and levels for construction purposes
Execute quality control protocols to ensure all tasks adhere to required standards and specifications
Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and project plans
Implement and oversee compliance with relevant building codes, regulations and environmental standards
Assist in procuring materials and equipment, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timely delivery
Develop and deliver regular progress reports, updates, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders
Keep meticulous and precise project records, encompassing daily logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation
Manage and coordinate testing of materials, equipment, and systems, ensuring they meet required standards and specificationsThis is a long-term freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
