Our client is looking for a qualified Mine Planner to join their team based in Mozambique.
Responsibilities:
- Develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans and schedules.
- Design pit layouts, underground development plans, and extraction sequences.
- Optimize mine designs to maximize resource recovery and minimize operational costs.
- Analyze geological, geotechnical, and survey data to inform planning decisions.
- Evaluate ore reserves and conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability.
- Monitor and update resource models based on exploration and production data.
- Use specialized mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, MineSight, or Datamine) to create 3D mine models.
- Perform simulations to predict operational outcomes and resource recovery.
- Work closely with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to align mine plans with production goals.
- Prepare technical reports, including mine plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Ensure all mine plans adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Incorporate safety considerations into mine designs to minimize risks.
- Evaluate and improve planning processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with advancements in mine planning techniques and technologies.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in mine planning or mining operations
- Experience with open-pit or underground mining is advantageous.
