RG Consultancy are currently partnering with a well-established and highly regarded business based in the heart of Manchester City Centre to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. The Role:
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This position is perfect for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid foundation in transactional finance, and a desire to grow within a stable, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing high volumes of purchase and sales invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and petty cash
- Supporting month-end procedures including journals and accruals
- Handling employee expenses and credit card reconciliations
- Responding to queries from suppliers and internal departments
- Assisting with ad hoc financial reporting and administrative duties
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or transactional finance role
- Confident using accounting software (experience with Sage, SAP, or Oracle is a bonus)
- Strong Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
- AAT qualification or working towards it (preferred, not essential)
