As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a motivated and talented Criminal Solicitor to join our team in Preston.


The Role


As a Criminal Solicitor at Farleys, you will be a key player in our work within the Magistrates court, acting as Duty Solicitor and assisting with a wide range of criminal cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor to contribute to the overall development of the department and is likely to see this role grow into a more senior position overseeing and organising our Magistrates court representation across all our offices.

The role will include:

  • Oversee a diverse caseload of criminal matters.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring high standards of client care and service.
  • Represent clients in court, prepare and present cases, and manage all aspects of criminal proceedings.
  • Assist in the growth of the Criminal Law Department through networking, marketing initiatives, and client relationship management.
  • Stay updated on the latest legal developments in criminal law and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.

To be successful in applying for this role, you must possess excellent client care skills and you need to be technically strong with an eye for detail.


You must have the ability to communicate effectively. You must also be reliable, organised, able to work in a very busy and fast paced environment, possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
