About the team and the role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail orientated Finance Assistant to join our existing finance team. As a Finance Assistant, you will be managing daily transactional finance activities, including both accounts receivable and accounts payable, reporting to the Finance Manager.

How you'll contribute:

  • Credit control, communicate with brokers and account handlers to follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Resolve broker queries daily in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Process and allocate remittances received from brokers.
  • Post and allocate daily bank receipts and payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily.
  • Ensure timely payment of broker commissions or return premiums, where applicable.
  • Keep insurers informed of any aged debtors and send them statements on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile statements received from insurers and remit on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office suite (including excel and word).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable (but not essential) Skills:

AAT Qualified or studying at AAT level.

Prior experience using Acturis software (training will be provided where there is no prior experience).

  • 1st interview with hiring manager at SSR
  • 2nd interview face-to-face at SSR
