We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our team working with primary-aged children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who are currently not in mainstream education due to emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties (EBD). If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children who face additional challenges, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted intervention and academic support, focusing on core areas such as Maths and Phonics.
  • Work with children who have social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping to nurture their development both academically and personally.
  • Deliver engaging and tailored educational support plans that meet the needs of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and help children develop resilience and self-regulation skills.
  • Travel between educational sites across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire as needed, with a main base in North Chesterfield.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, especially in core subjects such as Maths and Phonics.
  • Experience working with children with SEND or additional needs (desirable).
  • Team Teach training or similar (beneficial, but not essential).
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with an understanding of how to support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential).
