About the Role:
Teach Match Education is excited to be working with a well-known school in central Manchester to recruit a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning across the school, working closely with students and teachers to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, ensuring that all students can engage with the curriculum.
  • Lead small group interventions and 1:1 support for students, providing additional support to ensure progress and inclusion.
  • Take responsibility for delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining classroom discipline.
  • Support students with varying needs, including those with SEND, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and senior leadership.
  • Assist in the management of classroom behaviour, implementing strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Provide pastoral support to students, helping to address their emotional and social needs.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of extracurricular activities and school events where appropriate.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of students at all times, in line with school policies.


Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent (Level 4 or higher).
  • Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar educational support role.
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum and how to support students to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
