About the Role

Are you a skilled Social Worker looking to make a difference? In our Learning Disabilities 25+ team, you won’t just be filling a role—you’ll be stepping into a mission. You’ll tackle complex casework, from Care Act assessments to Mental Capacity Assessments and Court of Protection applications. You’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding vulnerable adults, creating care plans that are not just effective, but life-changing. Working closely with individuals, families, and a wide range of professionals, you’ll help our citizens build on their strengths, overcome barriers, and live fuller, more independent lives. Your work will be varied, challenging, and deeply rewarding.

About You

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Worker who’s eager to bring their passion and expertise to our team. If you’re committed to making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and are ready to take on challenging yet rewarding work, this role is for you. Here’s what we’re looking for:

- Experience & Passion: You have experience working with adults with learning disabilities or a strong desire to specialise in this area.

- Educational Background: You hold a degree in Social Work and are registered with Social Work England.

- Legislative Knowledge: You possess excellent knowledge of relevant social care and health legislation, particularly in safeguarding practices.

- Assessment & Planning: You’re skilled in delivering high-quality, strengths-based assessments and creating person-centred care plans.

- Communication Skills: You’re an effective communicator, able to articulate complex information clearly in both written reports and verbal discussions.

- Problem-Solving: You can respond to unexpected events and crises with effective, compassionate interventions.

- Team Collaboration: You work well in a multidisciplinary environment, building strong partnerships with citizens, families, and professionals.

- Flexibility & Enthusiasm: You’re adaptable, willing to travel across Southwark, and bring a positive, energetic approach to your work.
