Following the recent award of a major infrastructure programme in the North East, a leading cost consultancy are looking to secure the services of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with experience of using the NEC contract, to join their team in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing and managing all aspects of quantity surveying on the programme
Using the NEC form of contract, specifically option A, to ensure project compliance
Conducting cost control and budgeting for the infrastructure project
Providing detailed financial reports and accurate cost forecasting
Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression
Ensuring effective contract administration and management
Implementing risk management strategies to mitigate any potential financial risks
Supporting project teams with commercial guidance and advice

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in quantity surveying within a major infrastructure market (rail, energy, oil & gas, defence etc)
Proven experience with the NEC option A contract is essential
Strong understanding of contract administration and management
Excellent cost control and financial management skills
Ability to produce detailed financial reports and cost forecasts
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant qualification
